    Anna has the ability to sculpt her characters in a way that, despite their anomalies’ the are readily visible in the readers mind. She introduces her Main character as follows: ‘Bay North stood in line at the Concord Downing Bank and surreptitiously scratched under her wig. The damn thing itched like crazy. She ran a hand down the pencil skirt of her cheap, gray business suit. It was a challenge trying to blend in with the Denver lunch crowd waiting to bank checks and open new accounts. The suit, the foreign makeup and brown wig were her attempt at a chic disguise. She swallowed a snort. She wouldn’t know chic if it slammed her in the head with a pair of designer heels. Out of necessity, she usually wore clothes she could run in. Things might have been different if she hadn’t been born a freak. Her chest constricted.     Time Thief by Anna Hackett was the first read that I discovered from this author & what a gem! I read the excerpt from Amazon & had to download immediately to my Kindle because I was hooked.

    In Time Thief, the reader is introduced to the two main characters, Bay & Sean. Bay, the heroine, has a unique gift & is considered a Time Thief. For that, it has put her on the run most of her life from a crime lord bent on capturing her for the exploitation her gift. Sean, the hero, is an ex-Navy Seal who has never recovered from his men being killed by a Time Thief. One thing that these two have in common is their unquenchable thirst for revenge. Sean is a hunter out to track & kill Time Thieves and Bay is out to kill the crime lord responsible for her killing her family. Circumstances throw these two together & as truths come out they have no choice but to put their trust in one another to survive. However, at the end will they get the revenge that they were both desperately seeking for? Read the book find out!

    All I have to say is a job well done, Ms. Hackett. This story hooked me from the beginning & didn't let me down. Filled with non-stop action and with its fast pace, I was never bored with the story. I also liked the paranormal/sci-fi twist that the author put into the story which I felt made it all the more interesting. I also really liked the characters. Bay was tough as nail, yet vulnerable but she was an absolute kick ass heroine who I adored. And then there's Sean. Oh boy...talk about an emotionally wounded hero. Ms. Hackett has it down to a T with Sean. He carries the world of guilt on his shoulders and has built an imaginary wall to ward off people. But I liked him. He was alpha: fierce, protective, understanding and yes, sexy. Without a doubt, Bay & Sean are two damaged souls considering what they both went through in their pasts. However, I loved that they were also the ones to heal each other. In addition, I enjoyed how their relationship gradually progressed throughout the story. It felt more real and believable. My only minor complaint is that the story ended a bit too abruptly. I would have loved an epilogue with Sean & Bay. However, I still LOVED the ending! What a beautiful ending for these two; it definitely left a smile on my face. Overall, I highly enjoyed this story by Anna Hackett. It was well-written with good characterizations and good plot development. I devoured Time Thief in one sitting and enjoyed reading every page of it. Definitely a recommend from me.

    There isn’t a series I haven’t loved and the anomaly’s are no exception. I’ve been an avid fan of hers for years and I know that if you start one of her books, you’ll get the perfect mix of romance, suspense, intrigue and a bloody good story to steal you away.

    I thoroughly loved the alpha ex military man Sean and Bay was my type of empowered heroine.

    Bis jetzt kannte ich nur Anna Hacketts SciFi-Romane, hier haben wir es mit "a fabulously steamy novella" aus dem paranormalen Bereich zu tun. Die Geschichte ist schon älter, Ersterscheinen vermutlich 2014.

    Eigentlich gefiel mir der Roman anfangs recht gut. Vielversprechendes Thema (Jemand kann die Zeit anhalten und befindet sich auf einem Rachefeldzug.), ordentliches Tempo, interessantes zukünftiges Liebespaar, eigentlich alles da für gute Unterhaltung. Nur leider gefiel mir das Ganze mit weiteren Lesestunden immer weniger. Mir fehlte das "gewisse Etwas", das irgendwie abrupte Ende machte mich völlig ratlos, so dass ich hier überhaupt nicht von "fabulous" schreiben und die Beziehung der Protagonisten schon gar nicht als "steamy" bezeichnen möchte.
    Alles irgendwie mittelprächtig.

    Für Null Euro kann man das Buch natürlich jederzeit kaufen, die Serienfortsetzung werde ich mir wohl ersparen, auch wenn ich eigentlich wissen möchte, ob der Fiesling sein gerechtes Ende findet.

    This story was short, not so sweet, and full of drama. Bay was a time thief, meaning she could stop time for brief periods of time. She was also being hunted, and while Sean had her in his sights, he might be the only one able to keep her safe. I really enjoyed the idea of the various anomalies out there and how these people had to cope with their abilities and stay one step ahead of those who wanted them for their powers. The relationship between Bay and Sean was instalust at first sight, but I could see the potential for so much more in the end. I hope to see them in the following books of the series.
